Katrina Kaif only Akshay Kumar's arm candy

Even though Katrina Kaif is fed up of posing as arm candy, she agreed to star in De Dana Dan only because of close friend Akshay Kumar. Ask her why exactly did she agree to star in the film, and Katrina replies honestly, “My reason for accepting this film is only because Akshay asked me if I would do it.”

She adds, “Akshay is a friend and I could never refuse. The two of us have given some of the biggest hits together. When I learnt De Dana Dan is Akshay’s home production (Akshay’s Hari Om Productions is producing the film in partnership with Ratan Jain’s Venus Productions) I said yes without hesitation.”

Katrina, who is quite determined to get her ‘act’ together and be very careful about the roles she chooses now on says that De Dana Dan is the only exception to her new decree. She says, “I have played the arm candy in one too many films in the past.” Remember her successful films like Welcome, Singh is Kingg, Partner and Race?

It was New York that changed her perception. “Post New York, I have Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti where I’m the only girl with superb male actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Nana Patekar and Arjun Rampal. It is a performance oriented film for me and that’s the way I would ideally like most of my future films to be,” she adds.

Now that Katrina has set her bar high, she has consciously not signed too many films post New York. However, she is prepared for being overshadowed by De Dana Dan’s starcast, “It has a host of almost 22 super actors. Obviously, there may not be too much of me on screen,” she admits.

Katrina had a ball with sisters in Spain

Bollywood serene beauty Katrina Kaif had a gala time in Spain with her six sisters and one brother Michael. Katrina had a grand union with her family on her birthday and flew to Spain to spend a quality time together excluded media attention and public glare. It was a complete cozy get together.

"It was quite a glamorous sight, if I say so myself, to see six similar-looking women accompanied by one 30-year-old handsome guy (my brother Michael) in restaurants in Spain. We formed a secret society that quite comfortable excluded everyone around. We were just happy being one big family," said Katrina who received rave reviews for her film, ‘New york’.

Spanish is unknown to all seven of them except the one who knows Spanish well as she has a Spanish connection. Kat’s one of the sisters has a Mexican boyfriend and as a result she knows to speak fluent Spanish and she had received all the attentions in Marbella.

After a month long holiday with family, Katrina is getting ready to head back to Mumbai her second home and again focus on career. Speaking about her birthday, she said, "This has to be the best birthday of my life. I had the time of my life. It's quite a sight to see all us sisters and our protective brother walking together. I must say all my sisters are better looking than I am."

Before heading home, Katrina will fly to Chicago and Atlanta to take part in the Independence Day carnival in Chicago.

Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have not separated

Katrina Kaif says she and Salman have not separated and that they are still a couple. There are rumours galore linking Katrina to one and all in Bollywood including Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham.

This is notwithstanding the fact that the two male heartthrobs of Bollywood are going steady with their girl friends.

In the eye of mounting media reports Deepika said that she and Salman Khan remain a couple and that the story that Salman was throwing her belongings out of house were absurd.

Earlier the rumour mongers had spread rumours that Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan’s girlfriend of six years had vowed never to work with Salman Khan. The rumour came out after the alleged verbal duel between Salman Khan and another big Khan of the industry Shah Rukh Khan during the birthday bash of Katrina Kaif.

The birthday bash was thrown by Salman Khan for his girlfriend. He wanted to celebrate the occasion in a big way as Katrina Kaif’s mother and sister were in the town. He wanted to make it as memorable as he could.

But alas his plans went sour and in front of who is who of the Bollywood. It became memorable but for all the wrong reasons.

And since then began the long list of rumours. But luckily the two were never carried away by rumours.

Everyone knows that initially Katrina Kaif got many of the roles due to her beau Salman Khan who sort of forced many directors who were desirous to cast him in their films. Salman’s presence almost ensures the success of films. Even if some of his films may not be super hits at box office but they always give a decent return to producers.

Katrina Kaif Has a Stalker

Someone is trying to win over Katrina Kaif's heart, and it isn't Salman Khan. Rather, it's a stalker, yes, a stalker. Katrina Kaif has fans all over the world but this one got a little bit too close for comfort. The stalker had been creeping outside of the actress' flat for a couple of days, probably hoping to get a glimpse of Katrina Kaif and no one noticed him. Getting bolder, the stalker snuck past security and found his way to Katrina Kaif's doorstep. Facing questions from Kaif's staff, the stalker said that Katrina asked him to come to her.

The staff made the smart move to call on Katrina's manager who told the stalker that Katrina wasn't home but to come back later. When the stalker did return, the manager noticed that his behavior was strange and decided to call the cops. Police gave the man a stern warning but that didn't deter his efforts. He came back to the apartment but after realizing that security was increased (Katrina asked the building association to do so) he walked away. He sure as hell seems determined. Come on with looks like hers who wouldn't want to spend a few precious moments with Katrina.

Now we're left to wonder, what kind of cheap security does this building have that a stalker can make their way to the doorstep of one of Bollywood's biggest stars. And who knows, maybe the efforts of this stalker will make Salman Khan a little jealous and he'll get back with Katrina. But we're glad that Katrina Kaif is alright. Her next film to be released, "New York," is expected to be a summer blockbuster.

Katrina and Salman – a split that wasn't

A mountain was created out of a molehill as rumours of a split between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif spread through the tinsel town faster than wild fire.

For the nth time we all heard the renewed and recycled rumours of Sallu and Kat’s affair going kaput earlier this week. Some of the reports even gave an “official” stamp to the split that actually was a mere figment of someone’s imagination.

Salman, it was alleged, had chucked Katrina’s stuff out of his Galaxy Apartments after learning that she was in touch with his foe John Abraham through SMSes. He had allegedly decided to shut Kat out of his life.

This heap of utter chaff has got Salman angrier than anyone else. Katrina herself confirmed this to a news daily.

“I’ve no idea where this story started from, but Salman was very angry and he was ready to clear the air with the people who started it, but they didn’t come on the line,” Katrina is quoted by BT as saying.

Katrina did not deny exchanging SMSes with John but clarified that they were purely work related and were exchanged during the days she shot Yashraj’s film New York with John.

However, the actress isn’t holding any grudge against John for the recent spate of rumours. She says John was a “sweetheart” with whom she enjoyed working but did not remain in touch after the shooting got over.

As for Salman throwing her things out of his house, Kat says that’s untrue and her photographs are still hanging on the walls of Salman’s apartment.

Not just the photos Katrina herself is still a part of Salman’s life.

So all the rumours can bite the dust and rest in peace for now.

Showstopper Katrina Kaif in awe of international rap sensation Akon

Showcasing her perfect dance moves in a white glitzy ensemble, Katrina Kaif’s electrifying performance at the IPL grand finale did perfect justice to the glory and hype surrounding the event. The stunner, who bought down the curtains to the country’s most raved about event in style, grooved with international rap sensation Akon and seems to be in awe of the singer.
Even as our desi men fight it out for Katrina’s attention, the lissome beauty was left mesmerized by the hip hop singer’s sassy act. Talking of her favourite show moments, Kat said, “We all love Akon’s music. He’s quiet and shy, but seemed really sweet. The crowd totally enjoyed our act. In fact, when we made a re-entry to bid goodbye, we kept dancing, and went on and on."

Talking about sharing the podium with Akon, Kat said, “It was great. The energy and the atmosphere in the stadium was infectious. We were all so excited. The organisers had told us that they wanted the closing ceremony to represent the spirit of the IPL. That’s why it wasn’t very Bollywood. It was more elegant, and it was all Shiamak’s idea. He said that there’s been enough dancing and that we should do something really different. Since Jai Ho! is an anthem of sorts today, we wanted the show to capture that spirit”.

As for her team, Royal Challengers, that lost the final to Deccan Chargers, the gorgeous lass stated that the team had come a long way from being the ‘underdogs in the first season, they made it to the final’.

Well, win or lose, this bombshell sure seems to have had a blast.

Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan in '7 Days In Paris'

Sanjay Gadhvi is all set to start his new film. This one will be produced by Studio 18 and star Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif, who've been teamed for the very first time. It's a romantic/comedy and is aptly titled ‘7 Days In Paris’, since Paris happens to be one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Sanjay plans to begin filming in June-end/July, "because I want to capture the summer in Europe," he reveals, "It's a uniquely structured script, but I can't reveal much at this stage." Sanjay plans to wrap almost 85% of the film in Paris, while the remaining portions will be filmed in London and Mumbai.

"The only film to be shot so extensively in Paris was ‘An Evening In Paris’. Of late, ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’, ‘Don’ and ‘London Dreams’ were filmed in Paris as well, but not extensively," Sanjay adds. Watch this space for further updates!

Katrina Kaif says I share amazing vibes with people in Delhi

The Bollywood stunner was in Delhi to cheer the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bangalore of whose brand ambassador she is. At the event, she also gave away prizes to the winners of ‘Meet and Greet Katrina’ contest.

Casually dressed in jeans and the Royal Challengers T-shirt, Katrina said she looks forward to shoot in Delhi someday.

“I really hope that someday I come to the capital for the film shoot. I have shot for different movies in all parts of the world but unfortunately not here. So I'm looking forward to that opportunity as I know it would be real fun,” the actress said.

At the press conference, Katrina added that she shares “amazing vibes” with Delhiites.

“I come here very often but they are very short visits. I just love this place. If I have to decide where do I want to live after Mumbai, it would definitely be Delhi. Here I share amazing vibes with people and see so many friendly faces,” she added.

Speaking about the IPL which is going on in South Africa, Katrina said she would love to see the tournament return to India next year.

“We all know the reasons why IPL's venue was shifted to South Africa, but I would really like it to be back here again because the enthusiasm, craziness and fan following for cricket in India is simply amazing…The whole experience is priceless. That is the time when we smile together and cry together,” she remarked.

Katrina is set to fly to Johannesburg for a performance at the IPL grand finale on Sunday.
